Paper Prototyping

Concentrate on paper work before the actual work!
This funda applies to design of interfaces as well and is called Paper Prototyping. Paper prototyping is a cheap and fast technique for rapid iterative design of user interfaces. Here are a few examples:

Paper prototype of typical forms-filling screen.

Paper prototype of a tabs-based design.

Testing hardware user interfaces: mockup of a kiosk.

Very old school :P Would it not take longer writing and drawing it all out using paper and a pen, than just running to ur desktop/laptop and either do some designing and planning before hand, or just skip the planning and prototyping and just get straight to the real thing?
Hoping of course that all goes ( I would say to plan, but you could be skipping that part) right....
